Ty's first school field trip to the pumpkin patch

Ty's first field trip was at the local pumpkin patch with his class.  It started with a lesson on all you want to know about pumpkins.

Here's Ty with his good friend Colin.  These two get along so well and enjoy having class together.

Then we caught some funny photos in these wood signs.  Two cute scarecrows!

And a tractor driver!

Then it was time for a hay ride.

And on the ride we got to see lots of different crops, from corn to sun flowers, and lots of pumpkins of course.

After the hay ride, we headed into the corn maze.  Here's the beginning, I hope we make it out!

Thank goodness we had Colin and Susan to walk with through it.

And we made it out, thank goodness.  Thumbs up!

The last step was to pick out a pumpkin that Ty got to take home.  Wow, I never thought this would be such a difficult job.  Ty took a long time, looking over every pumpkin.  We had to find the perfect one.  Not too big and not too dirty.  The stem couldn't be too long and it definitely couldn't be too tall or short. :)

I thought we'd finally found the perfect pumpkin but nope, this wasn't it.
The search went on...

and on...

and on.  But finally he found the perfect one and we were the last ones out of the patch. :)

What a fun first class outing!

Apple Picking with the Lizano's in Julian

We headed out to our favorite apple orchard, The Raven Hill Orchard.  We've picked apples here for the last 3 years and love it.  We always stop on our way there at Dudley's Bread shop.  This year we ran into Tatum and Kaitlin's friend Sophie from kindergarten class.  How cute are they?!  And look at the height difference!  Tatum and Kaitlin are the tallest girls in their class, and I'm pretty sure that Sophie is one of the smallest. :)

After picking out a few loaves of bread and eating delicious sandwiches, we headed to the orchard.

Let the apple hunting begin!

Tatum found a good one!

And so did our monkey man!
Ty's favorite part is to pick and eat them right off the tree.  Yum!

Garrett enjoyed that too. :)

Oh these boys.  We had a hard time filling our bags with these two around. :)

I even picked a few good ones.

Ty, Ian, Kaitlin and Tatum.  Such wonderful friends.

Ian found this little birdie nest in one of the trees.  Good eye.

A fun family day!

To make it even more fun, we stopped at two wineries right next to the orchard.  This is another reason why it's our favorite. :)

At the second winery, the girls found a cat in a box. They named her Nighttime. :)  I was surprised that Nighttime sat still and let them pet her.  I guess she's the winery mascot and is use to getting lots of pets.

Eric enjoying a shave from Ian. :)  What a fun outing and we loved being there with the Lizano's.

Disney on Ice!!

Shauna invited Tatum, Ty and I to see Disney on Ice at the Sports Arena.  So fun!  Ty had never been to a Disney show so he was really excited.  And it was a wonderful show!

Mickey in a hot air balloon!

The old lights parade, this brought back memories for me. :)

Shauna and the kids at intermission.  Can you tell they're loving it?!

They even had fireworks!

And after the fun show, we headed to the Corvette Diner and had a delicious lunch where the server did Tatum's hair up with straws.  We thought it looked so cute, she should wear it like this at the wedding! :)

After some fun games and wining prizes, we headed home.  Thanks GM for a fun day! :)
