A musical weekend

After dropping Tatum off at kindergarten, Ty and I picked Grandma up and headed to the Vine Theater at the Bernardo Winery to hear Hullabaloo.  It's one of our favorite kids music bands and there was a great turn out.

Ty was a tad shy at first, not wanting to get out there and boogie with the others, but Hullabaloo played lots of our favorites like ABCs and Baa Baa Black Sheep, so fun!

Maracas in hand, trying to warm up. :)

Ty was more interested in using my camera and taking pictures.  And I didn't get a picture but Ty finally loosened up and boogied a bit with some of the other kids, it was cute.  He says he's going to be a break dancer so Hullabaloo wasn't sporting the kind of music Ty needed to fully let loose. :)

But speaking of letting loose, Garrett, Shauna and I headed to see Dave Matthews Band that evening at the Cricket Ampatheater and had a blast!  We had a few beers in the parking lot and as it is custom at a Dave concert, we made friends with our parking lot neighbors.  A fun and wild group!

Cindy and Chad were from Arizona but Cindy was living on a boat out here in the harbor, working for Trader Joe's and waiting for a transfer back out to Arizona in October.  Chad strangely enough has two kids, named Tatum and Tyler!  How crazy is that!  All night, we kept high fiveing and yelling, "Tatum and Ty!", it was funny.

We also met Shandon and his wife Tracy, also lived in Arizona but had moved not long ago from Minnisota.  And yes, she had a thick Fargo accent, one of my favorite accents of all!  And as she drank more, it got more and more pronounced, I loved it!  They were both the sweetest people and we all really had a fun night together!

Shauna and I have been going to Dave concerts together since 1998.  Wow, almost 15 years of Dave concerts and I think we've been almost every year!

Shandon is a Dave Matthews Band Club member so these two were sitting in the front section, so close!  Shandon, in his drunken state, decided he was going to sneak us all to the front with him, no matter that there would be no seats or places for us to stand up there. :)  But Shauna and I laughed because I think most Dave concerts we've been to involved us sneaking or trying to get to the front.  Oh the days! :)
When we got to our seats up in the 300 section, we were pleasantly surprised!  We were in the front row of the section and dead center.  We had a perfect view!

Having a blast and begging to hear some Crash, Two Step or Satalite.

The number of pictures we've taken like this at a Dave concert, I can't even begin to count.  So fun!

Three peas in a pod. :)

And while we were enjoying ourselves at Dave, my mom was helpfully watching the kids, love Grandma!  It was Grandma Day on September 9 so I took Grandma out for champagne brunch at Cafe Merlot, the delicious restaurant at Bernardo Winery.

It was a hot day but yummy food and quenching champagne.

We finished up our restful outing with a swing on our favorite swing.
