The fair comes to town!

The Del Mar Fair comes to town every year in mid June and I'm not a big fair person, but the kids love it!  Who doesn't love chocolate covered fried butter on a stick!  No, we didn't eat that but we saw it at the fair!  We usually steer clear of the fair food all together and just stick with visiting the live stock and beating out a rhythm on a milk drum. :)

Ty wanted me to show my drumming skills while he showed off his picture taking skills. :)

And after we stopped to watch the horse riding show and then took a walk through the gadget warehouse, (who doesn't love to see all those mop attachments!) we headed to the kiddie ride area, the kids favorite part.  They were so excited when they got there, they had to ride the first one down the ramp, the boats!  Ty tried to go in the exit, not understanding why when everyone was getting off, he couldn't just walk in and board any boat he'd like. This actually sounds a lot like my dad. :)

I bought enough tickets so each kid could get 5 rides and Ty's face looked about like this on every one.  He LOVED it and had a melt down when he found out there weren't endless rides and tickets.  I'm just glad the fair comes to town only once a year. :)

Then we headed over to the alien exhibit and here we are on Mars!

What does the mommy tomato say to the baby girl tomato and...

boy tomato?  Ketchup! :)

We had to stop and check out the petting zoo where we saw goats, sheep and chickens.

Tatum would have no part of the petting zoo so her and Grandma headed over to the rooster section where they had more roosters than you could imagine.  Ty loved the goats, of course.  And after a few chaotic hours, we left the fair and had no interest in returning till next year.
