Father's Day

Since it was Dad's choice, we spent the weekend completing a home improvement project in the backyard. Tatum was such a helper and really got in there and helped out...
Even when you're in the dirt you need to look cute!

And here are the two of them relaxing next to the completed new paver path.

For Father's Day dinner we were invited to Ryan and Ali's house along with a few other friends and two of Tatum's BFFs, Kayla and Ellie. When it was time for the adults to eat, the parents pulled out the Barnie video and even Garrett enjoyed it! :)

Playtown

Playtown was well worth the 40 minute drive through traffic out to La Mesa. It's an indoor play area for kids with tons of fun things to play on or with, lots of kids, and tables on the side where mom's can sit and oversee the fun. You can also bring food and eat a meal there, in between the fun of course. :) Tatum loved it and just couldn't get over all the things that were just her size. She kept opening and closing the door to this play house, because she could!

She loved this tree house with lots of buttons and fun windows...

And this camper was her favorite. I had to help her in but she closed the door, grabbed the wheel and made a vrrrmmmm sound, so cute! She even was great at steering, so funny the things they absorb.

She was also very interested in the other children playing around her. At one point the boy in this picture got up in the passenger seat and they looked like they were an old married couple on a camping trip across the country, so cute! We'll definitely be going back to Playtown again!

Look at those pigtails!

Just had to do the mom thing and share my little punkin in pigtails. She's like a little girl, where did my baby go? In this shot she's also showing me how she can kick the ball, maybe she'll want to get into soccer!

Grandma's house

When we got up to Grandma's this week, Tatum received a stroller which she was very thrilled about. She's in the doll stage so she loves babies and loves to push her baby all around the backyard in the stroller. What a little Mother!

On Saturday we had our annual neighborhood garage sale and Tatum and Mattie did their part. Here's Mattie trying to talk the shoppers into a few Christmas items, along with showing her Cowboy team spirit.

Tatum had a cold and was feeling a bit under the weather so she stayed in her stroller and supervised from the sidelines.

Where are all the shoppers?! I think this was our slowest garage sale to date so needless to say, Goodwill received a lot of goods from us. :)

On Sunday, Grandma bought a new patio furniture set which she is very excited about. But Tatum thought she got the best part, the box the set came in! She decided to make it her garage where she parked her stroller.

It wouldn't be a proper garage without a few tools! Tatum helped Daddy with the assembly of the new patio furniture, handing him bolts and trying to use the screwdriver. But never dropped the blankie, a very important companion.

Tatum's first trip to Illinois

Our trip started off with a four hour flight to St. Louis and Tatum was a wonderful traveler. She loved looking out the window at the clouds and saying "Ooooo" and she did a great job of playing with her toys on the floor in between daddy's legs. What a big girl!

Then we had quite a drive to get to Garrett's home town outside of Springfield so we made a pit stop for dinner at Long John Silvers. This was a first for both Tatum and I and we enjoyed our fast food fish. Tatum especially loved her mini chilled mug of milk.

The next day Tatum got her first hair cut from Grandma at her salon. She wasn't too interested in sitting in the chair alone so she sat on my lap and was such a good girl, letting Grandma cut just a little off the bottom. Don't cut those curls off please! :)

On Saturday, Garrett and I went with his mom and step dad to a Poker Run sponsored by their club. While we were off drinking and riding a boat on the lake all day, Tatum had a chance to hang out with her cousins and have fun on their trampoline. This was her first trampoline experience and she obviously enjoyed it. She also spent the night at their house and slept on a trundle bed for the first time, no crib!

This is four year old Peyton, Tatum was very taken with him and all his energy.

And this is ten year old Carlie who loved to carry Tatum any where she wanted to go. Tatum loved it!

And this is fifteen year old Lakyn who was wonderful at making Tatum feel at home.

On Sunday Aunt Diane had the whole family over for a delicious Italian dinner and Tatum had a fun time playing with the kids, participating in the toy auction, and playing with the bubbles and sidewalk chalk that she won.

This is Aunt Diane

And here's Garrett with his sister Carissa

The last day we were there, we drove down to St. Louis with Grandma and saw a Cardinal's game in the new Busch Stadium. We had wonderful seats, thanks to Grandma, and had a great time at the game.

Tatum enjoyed watching the game upside down. She actually enjoyed eating that way as well.

Well, at least some of us caught the end of the game. :)
