Doheny Camping!

It's Doheny camping time!  This is our favorite camp spot which is located in Dana Point, along the beach.  It's about impossible to get a spot since you have to book 6 months out and beach front is taken in seconds from opening.  But as you can see in this photo, we got beach front!  Site number 87 and it was perfect.  After arriving on Thursday, we unpacked and settled in.  Tatum stayed in San Diego with Grandma since she had a field trip the next day to the Birch Aquarium that she definitely didn't want to miss.  So Ty and Isaac got lots of one on one time!

After a wonderful first night, we took a morning walk on the beach

This was our first camp trip with Ryan along.  The boys enjoyed strolling and chatting...

and Lee and I always love our LJ time.

Then we pulled our chairs and umbrellas out to a beach spot in front of our camping place and started playing in the sand.  We almost berried Isaac! :)
And then Ty got into it.

A nice family moment by the water

Our favorite Aunties payed us a visit around 3 and we all enjoyed the beautiful weather.

Ryan brought two really cool kites that the kids loved!  They were trick kites, and by trick I mean it was a trick to figure out how to keep them from nose diving into the sand. :)  But Ryan got it down after only a few attempts and the kids loved helping him by running and picking up the kite and throwing it back into the air.

Grandma and Tatum made it to the campsite around 3 as well!

Then it was time for some evening bike riding before dinner.

Walking the camp spots, just like the good ol' days

Watching the sunset and saying good night to another great beach day.

The next morning Lee had to take Isaac to meet his dad, so we borrowed the bikes and took a family bike ride.

Ty loved Isaac's big cruiser!

Hang ten bra!

Even though the jazz festival was going on down at the Doheny day camp area, the Jazayeri's and the Miller's were able to find spots to park a few miles away and Garrett chauffeured them in.  All the kids enjoyed seeing each other and playing in the water.

The BFFs

And the cute couple

All the kids loved Ryan and here they are waiting by his tent door, hoping he'll come out and play soon. :)

Waiting for smores

Tatum loved hanging with Kylie, too cute!

Roasting the marshmallows!

Yum!  Ryan brought the Washington version of smores which is a marshmallow on top of a Reeses pb cup, between two cookies.  Delicious!

We had an awesome camping trip and an amazing spot.  And such wonderful friends to enjoy it with.  We'll definitely be back again!

Mother's Day

Mother's Day started for me on the Wednesday before.  Tatum's class put on a Mother's Day tea where we were served tea, cake and fruit.

Then the kids sang us a few beautiful songs.

Here's Tatum singing along while standing next to Kaitlin, Lila, Jiya and Trevor.

I was served my delicious items on this beautifully hand made place mat.  You can't see the writing by it's a questionnaire about me where Tatum states I'm 78 years old, 58 lbs, I love to clean, I like to wear a shirt and pants, I love sushi, I don't like when Tatum doesn't do her chores and my job is to take care of her.  All very correct, minus the weight and age. :)

Then on Thursday, I was invited to Mom's and Muffins with Ty!
Here's all the mom's and kids enjoying hand made muffins and juice.

My sweet little man.

He made me this kitchen towel that I love!  He also sang a few songs with his class, so cute.
Then for the real Mother's Day, Mom, Tatum and I headed to church and then returned home to enjoy a delicious meal and mimosas!

We also got some pretty nice gifts like flowers, a hand made pen holder pot for Grandma, and money for a spa treatment. Love it!

Then Mom and I went to Orfila Winery to enjoy a wine tasting festival.  They had live music, crafts, food trucks and lots of wine!  A wonderful day for both of us.

Quatro de Mayo!

Since Cinco de Mayo fell on a Sunday and we'd be leaving Irvine that day, Mom had us celebrate Quatro de Mayo!  The Jazayeri's came over, as well as Jane, Barbara, Mari, Bob, Leanne and Ryan.  A whole party!  And here are the two BFFs looking so festive.  I can't get over how different in size they are.  Tatum on the tall side, Mattie on the small side, but they still make a great pair.

Here's what happens when you try to force a little boy to smile for the camera.  Obviously Ty wasn't interested in posing with Cameron but I still got a shot.  The boys were playing in the play house and they too get along really well.

And the girls.  BFFs for many years!

And here's a great picture taken by our photographer Ty.  He likes being behind the camera much more than in front of. :)

It was a pot luck and everyone brought something delicious.  We are such a lucky group, happy to have each other.

And one last picture of Tatum with her wonderful Grandma.
