Family pizza night at Tatum's preschool

North City Preschool puts on a pizza night close to the last day of school.  All the families come to enjoy pizza, watermelon and brownies and the kids put on a show.  They sang three songs and all did a wonderful job.  So cute!

This is our neighbor and friend Anderson, such a ham!  He's hilarious, just like his dad. :)

Tatum has her first crush on a boy.  Here they are playing tag, or keep away, or one of those flirty games.

Here's Tatum's teacher, Ms. Kristin.  Tatum is sad to say good bye to her school and she's a bit apprehensive about kindergarten and the unknown.

And here's the crush, Andrew.  These two are too cute!  I don't know as he has any idea that she likes him but you can sure see it in her face. :)

Good bye Disneyland, see you after summer!

Since we have the inexpensive passes to Disneyland, we are blocked out from going for most of the summer.  June 4th was one of our last days so we went in the evening, after dinner, and parked in Downtown Disney.  They have a large Lego store with some cool displays!

We got into the park and went straight over to grab a spot to watch Fantasmic, the fireworks show over the pond and Pirate Island.  We got a great spot, second row from the front and after we stretched out some sweatshirts to hold our spot, Grandma took the first shift sitting at our spot and the kids and I ran to hit one of our favorite rides, Buzz Lightyear.  The line was too long so we jumped on the rockets, right next door, which said it was less than a 15 min. wait.  This ride was a first for all of us!  The kids loved it but it went so high, I won't be riding that one again!

The wait was much longer than 30 min. so after the line, the ride, and  then stopping at the store to buy some light up stuff, like these Mickey ears, poor Grandma had been sitting on the ground for almost an hour!  We had hoped that she could take the second shift and go on a ride but the crowds were ridiculous for the show so it was almost impossible to get out of the spot we were at.  She toughed out another hour on the floor with us and we took some silly pics while we waited.  This one was taken by Ty!

Then the show began!  We loved it, lots of fireworks and pyrotechnics, so cool!  The pirate ship went by with Peter Pan and Captain Hook, Ty loved it!

The river boat came by with all the characters and princesses, Tatum loved that.

We won't be staying that late and watching the show ever again so we were glad to catch it this one time.  By the time we got home, it was almost 10:30!  But worth the wait and the late night.

Parent's night out!

A parent's night out!  The Beaston's came to town and we were all heading to a Padre's game so Garrett and I took this rare opportunity to leave the kids at home with my mom (who was gracious enough to watch them over night) and get a hotel room on the bay downtown.  We stayed in the Hyatt, a beautiful hotel, and we had a great view!

I'm not much of a baseball fan, it's a bit slow for me.  But we watched the Padres play the Diamond Backs and it was fun!  The best part was Shauna's sister's boyfriend is close friends with many of the DBack players so we got to talk to a few of them before the game.  Baseball players are always so attractive.  Maybe it's the uniform. :)

Hanging with my girl!

Enjoying the game together, without juggling kids!

Then the next day, while the boys went golfing, my mom brought the kids down to the hotel where the Beaston's were staying, and we all enjoyed some pool and bay time.  It was a bit cold that day but didn't damper our spirits!

These two are too cute!

Little man with a BIG attitude.  This little dude is getting more and more stubborn and strong willed.  It's putting me through the ringer!
Here are some pics that Shauna took at the pool and the park with her wonderful camera.  Such great shots!

The Beaston girls LOVE when Ty does this so it was great that Shauna caught it on film.  He'll tell you to do something and he'll say, "It's ok, it's ok." with his hands up like that.  Like he'll ask to honk your nose or something else that you probably don't want to say yes to and then he goes into his, "It's ok" speech, trying to win you over.  He might be on the politician track here. :)

Here's Ty playing in the pool with John, Caty's man.  These two had a lot of fun!

This picture is just beautiful.  Toni is gorgeous and they're both looking and smiling perfectly, could be the cover to a magazine.

Here's Ty's chilin' in the pool picture. :)

Toni, Amber and I.  I love these girls!

Shauna and her man.

Tatum loves to swing now that she pumps herself.

And Ty loves the slide.  Such a fun day for everyone with the Beastons!

Tatum and Ty's first fishing trip on the boat

Doesn't she look like a natural?!  We finally got the kids proper life vests and headed out on the boat the other Sunday.  They loved it!  I thought Tatum was going to put up a fuss since she's not too keen on water but she climbed right into the boat and loved every minute!

Ty also loved it, he likes to sit behind the steering wheel and act like he's driving, even though Daddy is steering in the back.  So cute.  I love their enthusiasm for fishing, must be that IL blood. :)

Driving the boat. :)

And Tatum's quite a natural at fishing as well.  She needs someone to cast the line for her but otherwise, she keeps her eye on the bobber and reels in when need be.  This trip none of us caught any fish, a bit frustrating since we wanted the first trip out for the kids to be exciting.

But it didn't matter to this girl, she just kept watching that bobber. :)

Ty's favorite part is holding the lures.  Or the worms.  Or the live bate.  Whatever we're using, he's more interested in that than the actual fishing.

But at 2, he did a great job of reeling in his line and watching the bobber.  His patience level wasn't quite as high as Tatum's, after a few reels, he put the fishing pole down and played with the lures. :)

We got off the boat at one point but there wasn't much land to walk around and enjoy so we quickly got back on the boat.

The boat driver did a great job of getting us around the lake, as well as getting everyone's poles ready since this fisher girl doesn't do live bate or worms. :)

It was hot out so I'm glad I wore my hat!

Tatum hanging her feet in the water.  I was so proud of how brave she was and how well both of them took to the sport.  I see many more days on the boat this summer and in our future. :)

Memorial Day block party

We have such a fun neighborhood, I love it.  Every year, on the Sunday before Memorial Day, a bunch of neighbors bring their chairs and blankets, kids and ride on toys, and head down to the cul de sac at the end of our block.  We all bring food and the older kids do a great job of entertaining the younger ones.  Here's their annual water balloon fight!

And here's Ty's face after being hit by a water balloon.  Don't let him fool you though, in a moment he was back out there with the best of them.  Unlike my other child who stayed far away from the fight.  Her and water don't mix. :)

He was so proud that he grabbed one before they were all gone.  I think he hung on to it half the night.

Here's Susan and their new son Rhys.  Such a sweet boy and his big brother Colin is a sweetheart too.  We all sat around and enjoyed a delicious meal of carne asada and chicken tacos, salad, chips, corn cake dish, rice, beans and lots of desserts!

The boys getting in a few rounds of corn hole.

Here's Veronika consoling one of her three children.  Such a great mom.

And here's sleeping Rhys, love that sweet face.

The kids loved heading back into the Warner's backyard and jumping on their large trampoline with all the big kids.

What a fun Memorial Day celebration!
