Father's Day Weekend

Father's Day stretched out over the weekend for us and it began on Friday when Tatum made a pie for Daddy.

Of course, taste testing is always necessary. :)

And Daddy loved it!

On Saturday we headed to the San Diego Fair. After enjoying the baby farm animals, we went to check out the kid rides. There were so many to chose from and since this was Tatum's first real fair experience, she needed to ride quite a few. Of course, we couldn't pass up her favorite ride, the merry-go-round...

and after a scary ride with Daddy on the Farris Wheel (her choice), she opted for this Dora swing ride. I was a bit apprehensive since she had to ride on it alone, but she loved it! She laughed through the whole thing and when it ended, we could barely get her off!

Next, she chose a similar swing ride but clearly didn't like it as much. It was a bit faster and there were no pictures of Dora, no fun. :)

Then on the wanna be Dumbo ride with Grandma...

and lastly, a canoe ride. I'm not sure why she chose this one, it was very slow and on her second trip around, she got scared by a fog machine which made her cry the rest of the way around. Daddy ran over and pulled her out towards the end so the rest of the night she kept telling us that Daddy saved her from the scary boat ride. Go Daddy!

Before grabbing some horrible fair food on a stick, Tatum and Daddy enjoyed some fishing and Tatum won a piggy, or Oinky Oinky as she calls him. :)

Sunday evening, after Daddy got to enjoy some golf with his friends, we headed to Coronado park for a free concert. We enjoyed a yummy dinner of salad, chicken and fruit and Tatum loved the Kearny Mesa Concert Band. We were waiting to hear a few Mary Poppin's songs since they played various Broadway show tunes and Mary Poppin's is one of her recent favorites but we did hear ET, Mommy's favorite! :)

There was a wonderful park there where Tatum and Daddy played...

and then we ended with our feet up, enjoying the last of the music over some yummy animal crackers. What a fun Father's Day weekend. We love you Daddy!!!

Palm Springs Vacation

Garrett and I stayed in a wonderful resort in Palm Springs for two nights last weekend. It was wonderful to have some time to ourselves to enjoy quiet mornings with coffee on our patio overlooking the golf course...

lounging at the pool and enjoying the lazy river...

taking a few practice shots from our patio...

and I was able to watch Garrett golf from our room since he played on the course by our place. We had such a fabulous weekend together and some much needed relaxation before the baby comes. Only 2 more months!

Another neighborhood friend

We had another animal visitor to our house the other day. We drove up from the store and in the middle of the street in front of our house was Tommy the Turtle! I was so excited and I thought Tatum would feel the same but when I tried to get her to come out and see Tommy, she freaked out and ran in the house. Poor Tommy, obviously won't be one of our new pets. :)

Fun times

Garrett has been working hard on Tatum's play house and it's close to completion. Just some paint and shingles and the play house is ready for guests!

Mattie came over and the girls demonstrated their musical abilities. I think lessons are in both of their futures. :)

Tatum loves going to Grandma's because she gets an ice cream cone, yum!

Finally back home, we enjoyed some bubble time. Look at this large bubble Tatum made with her bubble wand! As you can see, our duck friends came to visit us. Tatum loves to feed them bird seed and, unfortunately due to this, the ducks love to come visit us at all hours of the day. Especially 7 am!

So serious about her bubble making.

Who could ask for more fun on a cloudy day!

Disney with Daddy

Daddy joined us at Disneyland for the first time last week and Tatum loved it!

She couldn't want to show Daddy all her favorite rides and places starting with the castle...

and the merry-go-round. (Tatum let me know that it's called a merry-go-round now, not an up and down. I guess my baby is growing up)

Then we all went to the petting zoo for the first time. Typical Tatum, she loved seeing the animals but had no interest in getting near them or touching them. My clean little girl. :)

Shawna and Eliot met us there too and we all had lots of fun.

And Tatum even fell asleep! Unfortunately, she missed the song and dance show Mary Poppins did right in front of her. :( But we didn't tell her.

The day ended when we got stuck in The Small World ride for half an hour. I was enjoying the rest but Garrett couldn't handle the song over and over again. They finally turned it off and were going to send people to rescue us but they got things working and we made it out. Tatum reminds me of the incident daily. Daddy loved his fun day at Disneyland even though we didn't get on one big ride. The Winnie the Pooh ride with Tatum made his day. :)
