The beginning of September

Our church decided to make a small rock garden memorial for children that have passed.

My mom had a stone engraved for my brother who died 8 hours after he was born at 31 weeks.  My mom and dad chose to name him Baby Tatom in hopes that they would have another baby boy and name him John.  After two more miscarriages, they never got their baby John so mom engraved the stone Baby John Tatom Jr, as my dad would have wanted.

We couldn't wait to see the stone in the garden and we'd check every Sunday after church until we finally found it.

This was such a gift and we look at it every Sunday we're there.
On Labor Day, we headed down to the harbor to see all the sand statues that were created.

Ty loved this one of course. :)

This one you could see through!

Then we toured the Maritime Museum which is a bunch of boats.  Ty loved the cannons of course.

And it was pretty hot that day so we all enjoyed the big boat with happy hour!

For a special surprise, I bought Garrett and I a kayak tour!

We put the camera in a water proof pouch so sometimes the pictures came through blurry or with green in them.

We had a blast!  It was a beautiful day and we got to kayak out into the ocean, past the waves and over to the cliffs of La Jolla.

Then we headed into this cave where the seals live.

Hard day on the water. :)

End of summer fun!

Too bad Garrett was out of town for work, he missed the Cardinal game!!  Grandma had never been to Petco Park so the kids and I took her!

They were conveniently having a wine festival with lots of wineries giving tastes.  Our kind of night!

Batter up!

We got settled in our seats and enjoyed dinner while watching the game.  Grandma loved it!

And so did the kids. :)

Tatum and I joined Ellie and Tamara for another fun day at Sea World!

While the three of them went on the roaring rapids ride, I went on the roller coaster!!!

Feeding the seals!

And petting the dolphin

Look at these tall mammals. :)

We watched the summer Shamu show before heading out after the fireworks.

Thank goodness Daddy caught the Cardinals game a few nights later with the kids, I had to miss this time.

Last pool days at Ellie's before she moved!

Ty started a soccer class and enjoyed being the goalie.  He definitely didn't click with soccer but took the class for 12 weeks and learned quite a bit

And to finish up the month, we enjoyed Cam's 5th birthday party, a Star Wars party!

The kids all learned how to fight...

And good thing because Darth Vader showed up!

Cam had a blast and so did Tatum and Ty.  Summer's over!!
