Happy Mother's Day!

What a wonderful weekend we had in San Diego for Mother's Day. Mom came down on Saturday and her and I enjoyed a relaxing spa pedicure together. It's so nice to have my mom so close and to see her any time we want. And the kids just adore her and can't wait for her visits!
On Mother's Day, the kids came running out of their rooms with cards in hand for me. Ty had scribbled on the front of his and was so proud and excited to give it to me. Tatum had drawn a pic of herself in her card and wrote her name! My babies are getting so big!
After church, we headed to 94th Aero Squadron for a delicious brunch. The kids loved it, make your own waffles, a chocolate fountain, ice cream! And the adult food was great too, delicious crab legs! Here's Ty enjoying a chocolate covered marshmallow that Tatum got for him.
The best part about this place is the fun stuff they have outside! Big planes...
cannons...
and ducks! Lots for the kids to climb on, explore and enjoy. And this back area has tables where you can eat while your kids run around and have fun. So enjoyable for adults! It also overlooks the air strip at Miramar so it's fun for the kids to see the small planes coming in and taking off. I didn't get any pictures but after this, Mom and I met Shauna at Bernardo Winery for a craft fair and some wine. It was really a wonderful Mother's Day, thanks family!

Love this city we live in

I always knew I loved San Diego, but we've been having so much fun lately and running into new experiences, even after all these years. So many things to do, we might need to do a new, fun activity once a week this summer! Here's the family at Carruth Cellars winery in Solana Beach. Shauna and I are members here and enjoy a free tasting every other month when it's time to pick up our wine.

After some wine tasting, we headed down to Del Mar to have a picnic and enjoy the sunset.

And here's a flock of pelicans that flew over. Beautiful.

I don't know what's going on with this photo, it looks like it's snowing at the park! It must be because it was pretty dark when we took this picture. Ty loves to ride on these and always wants me to get on one near him at the same time. Everyone always wants to feel like a kid again!

Tatum loves the big girl swing and she's getting pretty good at pumping!

Another fun day we headed downtown to the Children's Museum and met my friend Kelly and her daughter Keira. So many fun things to experience at this place. For starters, the kids got smocks on and tackled painting this huge, metal whale.

They put out these large buckets of paint and these big brushes, a kid's dream!

Then it was on to the clay area. If you haven't gotten the message yet, plan to dress your children in clothes you don't mind them getting a tad dirty in if you plan on visiting. ;)

Then we checked out this neat house that had a plastic roof and sprinklers running down to create a rain sound. Inside was this floor foam puzzle, so fun!

On to a bamboo xylophone where instead of hammering, Ty was more interested in pretending the hammer was a microphone. American Idol here we come!

Tatum was awesome at the rock climbing room!

And all the kids loved this rainbow bouncy tube, fun! Too many great things to check out at this place and the best part is that they switch over their exhibits every few months so when we go back, it'll probably be all knew to us!

We headed out in front of the museum to an interesting park for a picnic. Look at this funny and very large swing!

And on yet another fun day, Ty and I met Erica and Jack at SeaWorld. How cute are these boys? Jack is almost 5 months younger than Ty but at this age, they're starting to notice each other and enjoy hanging out. So cute!

The boys loves the star fish tide pools...

and we all had fun on the sky buckets...

After a picnic, we headed over to the Sesame Street section where there's lots of fun things to climb in and check out for little guys.

They even have some water spray areas. Ty wasn't too keen on getting wet so he just watched Jack get in there and enjoy it!

Ty saw Elmo and Abby come out and he couldn't wait to get in line to see them. He loves characters! And he absolutely loves Elmo. The look on his face is priceless.

How lucky we are to live in this beautiful city and enjoy all it has to offer in some amazing weather. Thanks San Diego!!!

More Mom's and Muffins pictures

Since my camera was acting up at the Mom's and Muffins gathering, Leslie took a few photos for me and just sent them over. Look at Tatum's pretty necklace!

Miss. Lawson read one of her favorite childhood stories to us that her mom use to read to her. It was very sweet and she even got teary while reading. Such a wonderful teach Tatum has.

Here's our side of the table, with Kaitlin and mom Deborah, Anderson and mom Leslie, Tatum and I, and Miles and mom Elizabeth.

Daddy was hoping to stay home with Ty so I could attend the function with just Tatum, but he had to run off to work at the last minute. Ty was being quite a handful, throwing muffins, making lots of noise during the touching story, being a typical crazy baby boy. So Karen, the school director, offered to hold him so we could enjoy the event. Ty loved this immensely, as you can see from the look on his face. What a flirt!

Shauna's birthday night downtown

To celebrate Shauna's birthday in a big kid way, we headed downtown for a night of fun. Jacquie, Erin, Lorianne (taking the picture) and Erica joined us.

We stayed at a hotel in the Gaslamp district which was perfect and convenient for all our birthday craziness. We started the night at Croce's, an amazing restaurant offering Contemporary American fare and a Jazz bar to boot! Delicious! Here's Jacquie, Erica and I enjoying dinner.

After a few annoying bars and turning down the Tavern (Ta Vern), we headed to The Field, one of my old favorites. It's an Irish pub. Small, intimate and kick back.

So kick back that we proceeded to play drinking games where a few boys came over to join us. Lots of fun!

Cheers to Shauna and a wonderful girls night out!

Birthdays, Birthdays and more Birthdays!

In no particular order since my computer has been acting weird and downloads the pictures onto this web site differently, here are a few of the wonderful birthday parties we had the pleasure of attending. This was at Addi's birthday, our neighbor friend who turned 3 and had a cute Tangled theme party in her backyard. Ty loved the Doud's sand box, how cool is this?!

The party had lots of cute activities including this game of Pin the Pan on Flynn's Face. :)

Here's the birthday gang. Addi's in the castle, so cute! Her daddy Brent made that for her!

And here's Addi and brother Trevor blowing out her candles. Don't you love her tower cake?!

Here's Flynn Rider looking for Rapunzel!

And how cute is Ty trying to eat his cupcake in a big boy chair!

Then it was a birthday pool party for Susan. They live up the street and have a great backyard with this wonderful pool and lots of fun toys and sand box. Ty loved this big floaty chair. And yes, I lathered those white baby legs with lots of spf 50!

Here's Ty and a friend of Susan's son Luke playing together in Colin's too cool truck.

Tatum even braved the pool and enjoyed the big floaty chairs. I liked the margs the most. :)

Tatum's BFF Mattie turned 4 and had a birthday party at a park with lots of trails for bike riding. Great since the birthday girl got a new bike and helmet!

Tatum loved the bounce house the most of course. And so did the birthday girl!

Ty braved the bounce house once but it wasn't his thing. He preferred the trails and riding on every moving vehicle he could get his hands on. He loved this scooter!

Happy Birthday Mattie!!

Oh, if only we could rent a bounce house every day of the week! :)

And like I said, these are all out of order because Shauna's birthday was before the rest. We had her over for dinner and her favorite birthday dessert, mint chocolate chip ice cream cake, yum!

The kids absolutely love Shauna, or Shaw as they call her. Every time our doorbell rings, they both yell "Shaw!!!!" Happy Birthday Shaw! We love you!!!
