Leanne's surprise birthday!

We headed up to Irvine for Leanne's surprise birthday but before the party began, we met the Jazayeri's at the Lagoon.  They love the slide!

And even Ty was enjoying it!

Such cute little friends.

Then it was time to decorate a boat!

The four of us decorated a duffy boat that Ryan had rented and started enjoying some cocktails before the guests arrived.

Then Ryan brought Lee down to the dock blind folded.

Surprise!!!!

We all enjoyed a ride around the Newport Beach Harbor while sharing delicious appetizers and lots of drinks.

The birthday girl and her man.

And our captain. :)
Awww, the BFFs

Lee and her wonderful coworkers.

Then it was time to sing happy birthday and have dessert!

Garrett got this close up of Sadri and took the picture just as the hanging flower landed right by Sadri's ear.  Great shot hun! :)

Then we hit the bar for some more fun!

Cheese balls!

Bestie love.  Such a fun night.  Happy birthday Lee!!!

The San Diego Fair

We really aren't fair goers.  We went two years ago I think when Tatum's dance group performed at the fair.  But this year we thought we'd give it a try.  We checked out the theme exhibit where they had large games, all kinds of games, for people to play.  Video games, board games, Operation, etc.  It was pretty cool.  And this large robot guy came around on his scooter, Ty thought he was so cool!

And he also thought this large Optimus Prime statue was cool!

If only we really won some money.  But we won a fun family day at the fair! :)

We headed right away to the kiddie ride zone and the kids got 9 rides each.  That was $50!  They chose wisely and thank goodness we were two adults because of course their choices were rarely the same.

Now this slide was one they both wanted to go down.  I told Garrett to watch Ty's face closely.  He had gone on the slide at Legoland a while back and every time he went down the dips, his face would drop, like he was freaking out.  I caught this picture and zoomed in.  Look at his face!  Granted, I think gravity was helping here, but so funny!

Tatum's favorite ride.

Ty on the bumper cars,...

Tatum on this flying thing...

Finally they both chose this swing thing.  Such cuties.

And here's the front of a Pirate fun house.  Ty had no interest even though he loves pirates.  He just wanted a picture with him.  You can't really tell here but Ty has wet pants.  He was on one of the kid rides when he yelled, while on the ride, "I have to pee... I did pee!"  Great.  He was a little wet and thank goodness the ride wasn't wet, but we took him over to the bathroom and he said he didn't have to go anymore.  Of course.  His pants were a little went in the front but not too bad.  So we headed to the slide ride and I looked over at him in line and I thought his pants looked wetter.  I mentioned it to Garrett and he said, "Yeah, looks like they're went all the way down to his shoes but we must not have noticed before."  Anyway, after the slide, I asked Ty if he had to go potty and he said, "No, I just peed my pants again."  Ugh!  I guess when you're standing in line for a ride, you either hold it, or just pee your pants! :)  He walked around in pee pants the rest of the night since we obviously didn't bring a change of clothes.  And he could have cared less. :)

Our little tomato and cheese!
We all enjoyed some interesting food like pizza on a stick, fried artichoke hearts, a beef sandwich and some ice cream sundaes.  I don't think we need another night at the fair for a long time since it cost around $200!  Crazy!

Father's Day!!

This year the kids and I came up with a great gift for Daddy.

His work van has metal walls inside where he can hang magnets.

So, as you can see, the kids laid out on the grass in the shape of...

LOVE, and...

we turned the pictures into magnets!  The kids loved this and Daddy loved his gift!

That morning we made daddy a delicious breakfast of biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs and fruit with mimosas for the adults. :)  Oh the craziness!

Then we took him to the pool.  We were up in Irvine so we got to use Grandma's pool.

So much fun!  Happy Father's Day honey!!!

Ty's Pirate Birthday Party!!!!

Ty is a huge pirate fan.  Loves Jake and the Neverland Pirates of course, but really, any pirate will do.  So when we started talking about his birthday party, he said it HAD to be pirate themed. :)  Of course, I'm sure this seems like a strange topic since Ty's birthday isn't till August.  But we decided to throw him a birthday party the weekend before school got out so he could invite his school friends and enjoy a party before summer started and people left town, etc.  So we did our best to decorate the place like a pirate would like. :)

Pirate cupcakes...

Pirate plates,...

and pirate decorations!

Ty's bro Blaine had a pirate themed birthday the weekend before and his mom made these beautiful Jake and Captain Hook banners and was nice enough to let us borrow them.  Ty fixed his hair and bandanna to look just like Jake. :)

And the best part of the party was the pirate themed bounce house!

Arrrrggggg!!!!

Captain Hook is in trouble now! :)

Grandma bought this big number 4 balloon for Ty.  He loved it!  Of course, this balloon caused some confusion.  Later he was telling his friend that he was four (as one would since they had a big birthday party with a large #4 balloon) and I had to explain to him that he's not 4 yet but soon.  He said, "But Mommy, the balloon said I was 4!".  Poor kid, so confusing.

Then Ty's friends began to arrive and the fun began!  Here's Collin and Rhys, brothers to two of Ty's bros. These two are only a month apart and will definitely be the best of friends.

Garrett gathered the kids together in the backyard and while reading a treasure map, the kids went on a treasure hunt...

following the maps directions around the yard,...

through the garden,...

around the play structure,...

and they found the treasure!

Everyone enjoyed a bag of pirate booty!

Then there was lots of jumping.

And walking the plank

And a pirate ship pinata!

Everyone had a turn at it with a blindfold on...

and then they had a chance with the blindfold off!

And the ship didn't last long!

Arg! Me cupcakes!

Colin enjoying the home made cupcakes. :)

We blew a fuse once while the bounce house was on, but after we got it back up and running, it deflated again.  The guys were having a hard time figuring out why it wouldn't blow back up.  Look at this boys face, he wasn't happy.  But then the guys figured it out and all was well!

Present time!

Here's the birthday boy after the party in his bug catching outfit.  So cute!  He LOVED his party and still talks about it.  Such a lucky boy, and I'm happy he's still 3 for another month. :)
