First few weeks of summer

Father's Day!  Daddy went with Ty to preschool for Dad's and Donuts.  Everyone hung out in the chapel and played games, ate and the kids gave their dad's these cool tshirts that they decorated and then put hand prints on and it says, "My Dad deserves a pat on the back."  So cute!

After Daddy enjoyed a round of golf, we took him to the Butcher Shop, delicious steak!

Week 1 of summer, Tatum was enrolled at Lake Poway camp with Emily and Megan.  This was animal day!  The girls love the camp and would come home singing new songs every day.  Tatum won an award for being the best behaved camper, such a great little girl!

Week 2 of summer, we were invited to the Rose house for swimming and a bbq.  Here are the girls getting goofy!

And the boys just chillin'. :)

The girls even did a makeover!

Week 2, they were both signed up for VBS at church and loved it!  Here's Tatum with her counselor Justin.  She had to get his number so we could possibly call him for babysitting!

And here's Ty with one of his counselors, Kevin.  A great kid!
We got a cd of the music they played all week at camp and it's a favorite to put on in the car.  This was an awesome camp and they can't wait for next year!

That weekend the Lizano's invited us to come spend the night with them at their timeshare in Carlsbad.  We swam, grilled out and had a delicious meal, and then headed up to the play house for games...

and smores!  The kids loved this!

And everyone loved the sugar!

Our wonderful family

The next morning, after breakfast with the Lizano's, we headed to the fair.  So fun!  On our walk in, two different people sold us a ticket for $5 so we saved almost $20!  That's the way to start off a day at the fair!

The theme this year was The Beatles and it was fun to see all the old pictures and learn about them.  The kids thought it was pretty interesting.

As soon as possible at the kids request, we headed to the ride area and spent $50 on tickets.  Ouch!  Each ride was at least 4 to 5 tickets so I think they got about 10 rides each.  Of course we ended needing two more tickets so when I went to buy two more, someone came up to me and sold me 50 more tickets for $20!  Of course a lot more than what I was about to pay for two but the kids had lots more fun!

In between all the rides, we got some food.  Ty and I each got a corn on the cob and Tatum and Garrett got hot dogs.  Ty also wanted the largest donut I've ever seen which we all shared of course!  Then we walked through about every one of the buildings with things for sale, and then ended in the flower area.  I love this area, so peaceful and pretty.  A woman gave Tatum this beautiful rose and she offered it to Daddy.  Too cute!  After one day at the fair, I always think we won't go back the next year but we always do.

Wonderful two years of Daisys

We have enjoyed two wonderful years with our Daisy troop.  They've gone on fun field trips like the Helen Woodward Animal Shelter, the Fire Station and done lots of activities like learning about self defense.  Tatum has loved it all!

Last year it was the 100 year celebration of girl scouts so all the girl scouts at Creekside got together for a photo.  So exciting to see this many girls doing good for their community!

For Earth Day, we learned about planting and planted up the front of our leaders house!

And on our final meeting, we met at Old Poway Park and the girls received all the patches they'd earned this year.

Then one by one walked across the bridge repeated after Ms. Tamara and became a Brownie!

So proud of her!!!

Brownie troop 8125!!

So excited to see what next year brings!

Dance their hearts out!

Both kids attended Dance to Evolve dance class at the local park every Wednesday.  Ty was in Beat Breakers which was break dancing and Tatum was in the older girl Hip Hop group.  On one of the last days of the season, Tatum was to wear her dance costume and one of the mom's was a professional photographer and said she'd take some pictures of them.  Well, mother of the year here forgot to have Tatum wear her costume but oh well, here are some cute shots of the group!

Tatum loved Ms. A and we're sad to see her move to Seattle.  But both kids said they might want to continue dance again next year so we'll see.

And the morning of the performance arrived!  Both kids were a bit nervous but it was a very early morning so that's never easy.  Here's our hip hopper and beat breaker!

I love this picture!

So Rhythm Nation!

These girls did a dance to Rhythm Nation

And these four did a dance to Beat It

Here's some practice with Ms. A before the performance

And then they were up!

I was told this move is called funky feet. :)

In the zone. :)

And done!  He did awesome!

And now Tatum's up!

Tatum did such an amazing job!  All these girls were at least 8 and older so she held her own with the big girls.

So proud of both of our dancers!  They danced their butts off and rocked it!  Maybe we'll be doing this again next year!

Tatum received flowers and I didn't catch a picture of Ty with his new toy but they both felt very special!
