Spring Outings

I've been known to over do it on purchasing Livingsocial or Groupon deals.  Any deals for that matter.  But for the most part, we always use the deals and it gets us out to do something we might not have done had we not purchased the deal.  So that being said, we had a few deals to get off our plate, one being a ski day at Mountain High.  I'd never been to this ski resort since we always went up to Big Bear.  But this place was only about 75 minutes from Irvine and no windy roads which pleased my stomach.  My mom was so nice to watch the kids while Garrett and I had a date day on the mountain.  Fun!
It had dumped earlier in the week so the snow was powdery and perfect.  Of course, everyone else had the same idea we had so it was a bit crowded.

The waits to get on the lift were so long and then you'd fly down the mountain just to get in line again.  After a few runs, we decided we needed a drink. :)

Then back to the mountain!

We had a wonderful time getting our one ski day in of the year.  Hoping for more next year for sure.

This wasn't a deal I'd purchased but the kids had been really good one week and we thought it would be fun to check out miniature golf since we'd never taken them before.  We went to Boomers and I had higher hopes for this place.  Luckily we got there early so we didn't have to wait in any lines but the place was really run down.

The kids didn't seem to mind though, they loved it!

And just when I thought we could turn in our clubs and head home, Ty spotted the video arcade.  He loves these games!

And Tatum enjoys the motorcycle ones.  Oh goodness, it was so dirty and gross in there and it smelled like BO!  I couldn't wait to get them out of there and wash their hands. :)  But they loved it and were rewarded for being wonderful kids.
And then another day we played hookie from school and went to Legoland!

We had come back in December to use our first day of the two day passes and even though we had a great time, we only got through half of the park and it started to rain.  So this time we did the other half and really enjoyed all of it.  Daddy couldn't join us but Grandma came along.  Here the kids are driving boats on the water.

Darth Vader!

There was a mommy duck with her tiny baby chicks in the little pond in the middle of the park.  So cute!

We stopped at the sports cafe for some lunch.

Oooo, a spider!

Enjoying the day of hookie!

This was the funniest ride.  The kids went up with their mats to ride this large slide.  Ty has a fear of heights so I was surprised he even agreed to go on this.  But if Tatum can do it, he's going to do it too. :)  So he went down the first time and every time he went over a hump on the slide down, his face dropped with fear.  He got to the bottom and said he didn't like it one bit!  Then Tatum ran past him and said she loved it and she was going again!  He stood there a second and, not wanting to be left out, grabbed his sack and went up again.  He went at least 5 more times and every time he'd go over the hump and especially when he dropped down that last drop, his face would fill with fear.  Poor guy, but such a trooper to keep up with sissy!

Air planes!  This ride said the kids needed to be 36 inches to ride but they also had to be 4.  Such a silly rule but maybe they figure they have to be mature enough to get into the plane and buckle up.  Anyway, Ty is 42 inches so well over the height requirement.  I didn't see the age requirement until they were already in line, so I yelled to Tatum and then mouthed that Ty is 4.  Well, before she could tell the conductor, he told her his age and she made me join him on the plane.  We still had a fun ride!
My super duper buddy.

This was another ride that he had to be 4, so we told him before he got in line that he was 4.  Poor kid was so confused.

A fabulously fun day at Legoland!
