Knotts Berry Farm

Grandma thought it would be fun to buy a season pass to Knotts Berry Farm.  We took Tatum when she was 18 months old but that was obviously a long time ago and Ty had never been.  The kids were SO excited and after we got our passes and headed in, we got to meet Snoopy!

We went straight to Camp Snoopy and the kids enjoyed a few rides...

but sadly, part of camp was under construction so I think they only rode 3 rides and we had to head out.  But I'm sure things will be up and running later this summer.  I remember these hot air balloons from when I was a kid!

Next stop was old town, scary!  I didn't get a picture but the thing I remembered in old town from my childhood was the leg that hung out a window and would move.  And they still had it!  We walked by it and then went to see the jail and One Eyed Joe was in jail and started talking!  Tatum loved it but she realized as we walked by the post office, that the man inside was talking into a microphone and that he was talking for One Eye Joe.  Oh well, she still loved it.

We visited the old school house and enjoyed reading about the reasons children would get lashings.  Talking out of turn got you two lashings, but forgetting your work got you four lashings!

And the graveyard.  This was always another favorite spot.  If you stand on this grave site, you can still feel the persons heartbeat. :)

Tatum was very brave and went on lots of rides.  Ty, not so much.  He's definitely not our daredevil. :)

This was more his speed.  He's just like his Grandma. :)

Grandma was daring enough to go with Tatum on the log ride though, wheeeee!

After Knotts, we went to Knowlwoods for dinner.  It's a yummy burger place that we use to go to when I was young.  The kids loved the table!

And the next day we cooled off in Grandma's community pool.  Yummy snack!

Tatum has finally started swimming and wanting to get in the water.  I can't say the same for Ty but I hoping time will tell.
