Ty turns 6!!!

Ty's August birthday always has us in a quadary.  Or at least me.  Do we celebrate during the school year while he still has his classmates?  Do we wait till his actual birthday when it's hot and everyone's gone for the summer?  This year Ty didn't want a party, he wanted to stay at the Legoland Hotel!  We have passes to Legoland so this was the year to do it.  It's very expensive to stay there during the summer of course so we booked a night later in September and on his actual birthday, we had a family celebration!  Here's his chocolate cake with chocolate frosting!

And Aunt Diane sent him two big presents!!!

So awesome!

And when mid September rolled around, we were all ready for this fun adventure!

Inside the hotel, when you register, there's a biker with magnifying wheels and tons of little mini figures behind it that get big in the wheel when it passes.  Pretty cool!

And there's a big castle in the lobby where the kids can run around and play.  When you register, the hotel gives each kid a list of clues and when they find the answers to the clues, it gives them numbers to a safe in the hotel room.  The kids couldn't wait to check it out!

Only disappointing thing was when we got to our hotel room, the safe wasn't locked and there was nothing in it.  Obviously the cleaning staff forgot the last step. :)  We called the front desk and they had someone run down the toys and gifts, but as you can see from Tatum's face, the excitement was lost.  Anyway, they still each got little lego sets.  Ty clearly wasn't bothered by it. :)

We jumped in our suits and headed down to the big pool, with lots of floating lego pieces that Ty built into a lego man!

And we, the parents, enjoyed an adult cocktail!

We had dinner in their dining room which was great and they brought Ty a brownie and sang happy birthday to him!

The kids enjoyed playing around the large castle in the lobby and later there was a show that you could watch or participate in.

Outside they had lots of characters and lego built things to look at, Tatum and I were having fun...

They also have legos everywhere so Garrett made me this sweet heart.  Thanks hun!

Next morning we all enjoyed the breakfast buffet and met these two lego characters!

The Grandma and Barbara met us at the hotel and we all enjoyed a fun day in the park together!

Tatum got her driver's license!

And we almost won the police race!

The fireman!

We had a super fun day and ended it at the hotel lobby with a happy hour drink before heading home and before Grandma and Barbara headed to their hotel in Carlsbad.  They enjoyed a fun night out and then Grandma said goodbye to Barbara and met us at Tatum's first Fall Ball game in Carlsbad.  Fabulous weekend!!!
