Shawna's baby shower

My friend Shawna from Seattle came down on December 1st and we had a baby shower for her at my mom's house in Irvine.  Linda, her mom Terri, Mom and I put together a luncheon with a champagne bar,...

 

a dessert tier,...

and lots of delicious salads and breads. 

 

Everything really came together and all of Shawna's friends and family enjoyed the celebration. 

Shawna is due in early March and her and her husband Elliot have opted to wait to find out the sex of the baby.  So we had lots of beautiful colors at the shower.

 

And since it was a rainy weekend, we got all the tables set up in the family room.  A little squishy but comfy.

Unfortunately, as soon as Shawna arrived with her new, high tech camera, I stopped taking pictures with my own camera and I haven't received the link for Shawna's pictures so I don't have many shots to share of the family, friends, opening presents or games.  But we played a gift bingo game that kept people occupied during the unwrapping time.  And a memorization game, where you look at a platter of baby items for 30 seconds and write down as many as you can remember.  Lots of fun!

Since Shawna lives up in Seattle, sadly, we don't get much time together anymore.  But it was wonderful to see her and Elliot and to "shower" them with a party.  Good luck friend and can't wait to see that bundle of joy this spring!
